No.54 Initial facility opening in FY2016

Update date: May 15, 2016

(Published in the May 15, 2016 issue of Koho Inagi)

We would like to inform you that two new facilities have been opened in the city since April of this year after construction in 2015 was completed.
(1) Inagi Nagamine Sports Square
We pre-opened the soccer field and futsal field in January last year, but now that the second phase of construction has been completed, all facilities are now available for use.
With the completion of the administration building, you will be able to use the changing rooms and showers, and with the completion of the electrical equipment, you will be able to use night lighting, so you will be able to use the building until 9pm.
The eastern half of the administration building is used as a disaster prevention warehouse and fire brigade warehouse. Due to a review of damage estimates in the regional disaster prevention plan, the building will not only serve as a warehouse for stockpiles that have been expanded, but will also serve as a handling area for stockpiled equipment, relief supplies, etc. in the event of a disaster.
Furthermore, with the completion of the lawn plaza, it can now be used for playing ground golf or taking a break while walking.
This facility is managed and operated by the Tokyo Verdy Group under a designated management system, and the facility is not only managed properly and used effectively by the citizens, but also offers soccer lessons by Tokyo Verdy and Nippon Television Beleza, as well as soccer training for players. We hope that it will be used for practice as well.
(2) Fire Brigade Second Branch Station
The station in the Higashi-Naganuma area was originally located along with a fire watchtower next to the railroad crossing at Inagi-Naganuma Station on the JR Nambu Line. It was relocated due to a land readjustment project, but with no prospect of securing land, a temporary wooden post was constructed and operated on leased land.
Later, as we were able to secure land at our current location, we decided to construct a permanent facility, and requested that we temporarily relocate to a prefabricated station in City Hall Parking Lot No. 5 during the rebuilding work. We apologize for any inconvenience caused to the Second Branch and the Higashi-Naganuma area during this time, and thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
During construction, we spent ample time exchanging opinions with the Second Branch and the local community association. Although there were budget and site constraints, we believe that we were able to meet your requests as much as possible.
This facility has many features and innovations. In the branch station area, there is a room next to the garage where you can put your shoes on, which is useful for preparing for dispatch. This is the first facility in the city to have separate changing rooms and toilets for men and women, and we believe it will be useful in encouraging more female members to join the group in the future.
In addition, a storage warehouse and training room operated by a voluntary disaster prevention organization are located in a separate area from the station, and the entire facility is arranged so that it can be used for multiple purposes for local activities.
We hope that the development of these latest facilities will not only facilitate the activities of the fire department and ensure safety, but will also contribute to recruiting and securing members.
By the way, the Kumamoto Earthquake that occurred on the 14th of last month once again reminded us of the suddenness and threat of natural disasters, and reconfirmed the importance of being prepared on a daily basis. Inagi City is currently working on improving and renovating its facilities in accordance with the Fourth Long-Term Comprehensive Plan, and will continue to incorporate improvements in disaster prevention functions in line with the original functions of each facility. .
