No.120 Commemorative project of the 50th anniversary of municipal organization enforcement

Updated: December 12, 2021

November 1st of this year marks 50 years since Inagi City was elevated from Inagi Town, Minamitama District to city status in 1971.
As an anniversary event for the implementation of the city, "Inagi Nashinosuke" was born on the 40th anniversary in 2011, and original license plates and commemorative resident cards were issued, commemorative stamps were sold, Jiro Asada gave a lecture and a movie was held. Screenings of ``The Heritage of the Sun'' were held.
For the 45th anniversary in 2016, the city designated the kestrel as the city's bird, and the city's original logotype was determined through a public contest.
In addition, in 2019, which marks the 130th anniversary of Inagi Village's founding in 1891, we held an old photo exhibition, issued commemorative postcards, and held historical lectures and quiz competitions.
This year marks our 50th anniversary, and we have undertaken various commemorative projects. We will introduce the main ones.
Deciding on the logo mark
An open call was held from April to June last year, and the work of Mr. Urabe, who lives in Nakano Ward, was selected.
Establishment of Inagi city song
We solicited lyrics from April to June last year, and songs from September to October last year. The lyrics were written by Mr. Asakura, who lives in Sapporo, and the music was written by Mr. Takahashi, who lives in the city. They were established as the city song in November of this year (the lyrics and sound source are posted on the city website, so please feel free to contact us). Please listen).
Creating a commemorative magazine
The contents were reviewed with the participation of citizens, and the document was published and distributed at the commemorative ceremony (please take a look as it is posted on the city's website).
Creating a commemorative video
We have created a video based on the 50 years of history (please take a look at the city's website). Commemorative Ceremony On November 6, 2021, a ceremony was held, with the first part welcoming the guests and the second part presenting letters of appreciation. The ceremony included a commemorative video and a chorus of the city song sung by students from three junior high schools. In the second part, a commemorative performance was held by the Inagi Philharmonic Orchestra and iMUSICA.
Commemorative film screening
On November 7, 2021, a screening of the movie "Kinjiro Ninomiya" was held by an executive committee made up of citizens and city organizations.
festival
Stage events and collaborative projects with Komae City (joint Bon dance) were planned for the I-no-Machiinagi Citizens' Festival, but these have been canceled due to the effects of the new coronavirus infection.
amateur radio station
The Inagi Amateur Radio Club will open a 50th anniversary commemorative station from October of this year to January of next year, and will communicate with people both domestically and internationally to disseminate information and promote Inagi City.
photo contest
We solicited entries from June to July of this year, and selected 1 Grand Prize, 2 Excellence Awards, and 10 Honorable Mentions. Exhibitions will be held one after another at public facilities in the city (please take a look as they are posted on the city's website).
Creating a can badge
We distributed badges with our logo at event venues and other locations.
Commemorative stamp sales
We have issued original frame stamps depicting the city's scenery, how the city was incorporated 50 years ago, characters, and selected works from the photo contest (on sale at the city post office, Pair Terrace, and post office online shops).
This series of commemorative projects aims to introduce the history, culture, and charm of Inagi City, which has been built over 50 years, and deepen everyone's civic pride. I would be happy if I could convey the wonders of Inagi to the next generation while expressing my gratitude for the achievements of my predecessors.
