Updated: December 12, 2019

This year, a new Emperor was enthroned and the name of the era changed from Heisei to Reiwa. The Enthronement Ceremony is a national act based on the Constitution, and the series of events consists of five ceremonies.
Ceremony for succession of swords etc.
This ceremony was held on May 1, 2019, to hand over the jewel and sword of the three sacred treasures (mirror, jade, and sword) that represent the emperor's authority.
Asami-no-gi after enthronement
This was the first ceremony in which the new Emperor spoke to the Prime Minister and others, and was held on the same day.
Enthronement Ceremony Seiden Ceremony
The ceremony was held on October 22, 2019, to declare the enthronement both within and outside Japan, and was attended by foreign heads of state and leaders, as well as domestic representatives. In the Pine Room of the main hall of the palace, the Emperor ascended to the Takamikura throne, and the Empress ascended to the Michodai seat. His Majesty the Emperor gave a speech, and the Prime Minister gave a speech. A congratulatory message was read out and all the attendees chanted three times.
Feast ceremony
This is a royal banquet for entertaining domestic and foreign guests who attended the Enthronement Seiden Ceremony, and was held on four occasions, including October 22, 2019.
Celebration ceremony
The parade is carried out in imperial cars from the Imperial Palace to the Akasaka Palace, and this time it was held on November 10, 2019, using newly-produced open cars.
Thus, a series of ceremonies related to the enthronement were successfully completed. The Enthronement Ceremony Seiden no Gi is the central ceremony of the Enthronement Ceremony, and October 22, 2019 will be a national holiday for this year only to allow the people to express their congratulations, and 1,999 representatives from 191 countries and regions will attend. attended.
By the way, the Enthronement Seiden Ceremony took place in the midst of heavy rain since the morning. Typhoon No. 20, which had been approaching the Japanese archipelago, had turned into an extratropical cyclone in the evening of the previous day, but it still remained strong and was heading north off the coast of Chiba Prefecture.
As I waited for the TV broadcast from 1:00 p.m., I watched the imperial family head to the Kashikodokoro in the morning with bat umbrellas in hand, and the Emperor walking through the outside hallway in the rain to get ready. I was worried about the weather.
But just a few minutes before the ceremony began, it suddenly became quiet outside the house. When I went outside to see what was going on, I saw a blue sky peeking out! It's like celebrating the coronation ceremony. What was even more surprising was that after the 30-minute ceremony was over, the sunny spell closed and it started raining again.
I heard that this phenomenon occurred not only in the sky above Inagi City, but also in a wide area of eastern Japan. Many photos were posted on social media showing a large rainbow in the sky above the Imperial Palace. It's really strange, but is it just a coincidence or...
In the words of His Majesty the Emperor, he declared that he has succeeded to the Imperial Throne in accordance with the Constitution and the Law on Special Provisions for the Imperial Household Law, and expressed his deep feelings that His Majesty the Emeritus has always wished for the happiness of the people and the peace of the world. , I wish the same, and vow to fulfill my duty as a symbol of the unity of Japan and its people, and earnestly hope that our country will achieve further development, contribute to the friendship and peace of the international community, and the welfare and prosperity of humankind. was requested.
As I listened to His Majesty's words, I renewed my desire for the development and safety of Inagi City within the scope of my responsibilities.
