No. 13 Inagi City Festival (Festival)
Updated: November 13, 2012
(Published in the November 15, 2012 issue of Public Relations Inagi)
This year's extremely hot summer has come to an end, and the autumn season of harvest and sports has arrived. The 11th I-no-Machi Eel Citizen Festival was held from October 19, 2012.
The past few years have not been blessed with good weather, and the year before last it was canceled due to a typhoon, and last year's opening ceremony was held amidst a downpour, but this year it was a beautiful autumn day for all three days, and many people attended.
This civic festival is a joint event that was previously held in different places and at different times for each field. Inagi City has grown with the development of new towns, but there have been issues such as interaction between new residents and residents of existing areas. Therefore, by maintaining the traditions of each parent event and integrating it into a festival where citizens gather together, it will become a point of contact that can transcend generations, transcend regions, and facilitate exchanges between industries and cultures from different fields. Yes, it was planned.
This year marks 11 years since then. Last year was a milestone year, not only the 10th anniversary but also the 40th anniversary of the city's incorporation. Along with the implementation of numerous anniversary events, an original character, ``Inagi Shinanosuke,'' was also created. If the past 10 years have been a period of creative development, I hope that the coming 10 years will be a period of stable establishment.
Although Inagi City continues to urbanize, it is a city that values its ancient community. I believe that the ``I-no-Machi Inagi Citizen Festival'' is one of the important events for maintaining Inagi's treasure ``local power'' through interaction between people and the local community.
I would like to express my gratitude that such a major event was held by the executive committee with citizen participation, and I would like to express my gratitude to the many executives who were involved.
I hope to see lots of smiling faces next year as well.
