No.84 “Fureai Center” opened in Nagamine

Updated: November 12, 2018

The Fureai Center project has started in the Nagamine area from October 1, 2018. This is the 9th target area and the 8th Fureai Center.
The Fureai Center was established and operated by the Social Welfare Council with the support of Inagi City, and is a place that can be called a ``local veranda'' with the aim of creating a place where anyone, young or old, can feel free to drop by.
Although Inagi City has the lowest aging rate in Tokyo, we have been proactively addressing future issues for over 20 years.
Originally established in Hirao in 1997 under the name Regional Center, it was successively opened in Oshidate, Sakahama, and Yanoguchi in 1998, changed its name to Fureai Center in 2000, and opened in Hyakumura and Higashi-Naganuma in 2002. , opened in Koyodai in 2006 and in Daimaru in 2012.
The functions of the Fureai Center are to ``discover'' issues in the community, provide a casual ``consultation'', and gather ``information'' when people stop by, leading to ``support.''
The actual operation is carried out mainly by coordinators in each district, with the participation of cooperating members and volunteers, and through cooperative relationships with local residents' associations, local welfare children's committees, green clubs, etc. Participants enjoy conversation while drinking tea, light exercise, and games, and spend their time freely and independently, and the specific content varies depending on the region.
Fureai Center operates in public facilities such as elementary schools and welfare centers, and district facilities such as neighborhood halls and senior citizen halls, and other locations that can be rented according to the circumstances of each district. Fureai Center Nagamine is located within Nagamine Oasis. We are implementing it.
Nagamine Oasis is a convenience facility installed by Asuka Souken Co., Ltd. during its office construction, which Inagi City leases from the company and is open to the public as a community space in the Nagamine area.
The facility as a whole is available for use from 8:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., and is managed by the Nagamine Federation from 8:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Time is managed by the city outsourced to the Silver Human Resources Center. The Fureai Center project is held in a corner of this facility from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, but this does not prevent the facility from being used as Nagamine Oasis during these times. We hope that as many people as possible will use this service as a local veranda.
This time, with the opening of the Fureai Center in Nagamine, only Wakabadai remains. Although this area is the youngest in the city, we would like to develop it in the near future.
