No.94 We concluded a comprehensive agreement regarding collaboration and cooperation with the Nihon University Athletics Club.
Updated: October 12, 2019
On September 3, 2019, we signed a ``Comprehensive Agreement on Collaboration and Cooperation between Inagi City and the Japan University Athletics Club'' at the newly established Sports Nihon University Performance Center in Sakahama.
Nihon University has owned land in Sakahama for some time and has installed physical education facilities such as an athletics field, rugby courts, and soccer field. This site is close to Wakabadai Station and can be reached on foot, but it is located on a hill between Metropolitan Wakaba Sogo High School on the north side and Inagi City Inagi Daini Junior High School on the east side, so it is easy to access the vast facility from the road. I think there are many people who don't know that Nihon University facilities are located in the city because they can't see them all.
The city has not had a direct collaborative relationship with Nihon University until now, but a facility redevelopment plan has recently been launched, and the city has decided to cooperate mainly in facility development, including planning for the use of adjacent land. The number of things has increased.
This sports facility underwent a large-scale renovation and was relaunched as "Sports Nihon University Athletic Park Inagi" in 2017, and facility improvements are still underway. In July of this year, we also opened the Performance Center, a new flagship facility for athlete development.
Athletic Park Inagi is located on a vast site of 126,000 square meters, the size of 2.7 Tokyo Domes, and the student dormitory environment, including training facilities and cafeterias, is said to be among the best in Japan, including those in the top league.
The city is currently proceeding with a land readjustment project in the Kamihirao and Odara districts, and in line with this progress, the general student dormitory "Banderian Inagi" with a capacity of 300 people was opened in April 2017.
In this way, thanks to the collaboration between the city and Nihon University, we have been able to provide excellent facilities in a wonderful environment.
By the way, while facility development is progressing, with the Rugby World Cup scheduled to be held in Japan, the Nihon University Rugby Club has been acting as an intermediary to explore collaboration with the city in areas other than facility development.
On May 4, 2019, a tag rugby event for children will be held at the Inagi City General Ground with the cooperation of the rugby club, and after the event, a spring tournament between Nihon University and Hosei University will be held. It's done.
Furthermore, students living in the dormitory have joined the fire brigade, and many athletes from the rugby club, men's and women's soccer club, track and field club, and women's judo club have participated in city events such as environmental beautification campaigns and citywide crime prevention patrols. Citizens have expressed their gratitude and welcome for their participation.
Under these circumstances, the city has created a momentum to build closer collaboration with Nihon University in a wider range of fields than ever before, with sports as its core, and to aim for mutual development, which has culminated in today's agreement. Thing.
As for future collaboration, the city will continue to cooperate with Nihon University's facility development and accept internships at city hall and the fire department. We also hope that Nihon University will hold sports classes for citizens, hold games at the Inagi City General Ground and Inagi Nagamine Verdy Field, and participate in various local activities.
We hope that the conclusion of this comprehensive agreement will allow Inagi City and Nihon University to develop together.
