Response

For those who are hospitalized for a long time away from their families, the following applies regarding the special address exception.
For National Health Insurance subscribers who are hospitalized or admitted to welfare facilities away from their families, the special address exception will apply, and you will need to make changes, enroll, withdraw, or process benefits for the National Health Insurance at your address prior to hospitalization or admission.
When proceeding with the procedures, please bring the documents listed below.

Documents Required for Procedures

  • Copy of Certificate of Residence at the address after hospitalization (admission)
  • Certificate of Residence
  • Identification documents for those coming to complete procedures (driver's license, passport, My Number Card, etc.)

Note: If a person from a different household comes to complete the procedure, a power of attorney is required.

Students who live outside the city away from their parents to attend school will also be subject to the address location exception.
