QuestionI was injured in a traffic accident. Can I use my Health Insurance Card?

Response

Medical expenses for injuries sustained due to the actions of a third party, such as in a traffic accident, should generally be fully covered by the perpetrator. However, if compensation is delayed, you can temporarily receive treatment under the National Health Insurance. Please be aware that the National Health Insurance will later bill the perpetrator, so it is essential to submit a notification to the Insurance and Pension Division at City Hall.
Additionally, if a settlement has been reached or if you have received treatment costs from the perpetrator before notifying the Insurance and Pension Division, you will not be able to receive treatment under the National Health Insurance, so please be cautious.
For the documents required for the notification, please check the "Necessary Documents for Third Party Actions" on the "National Health Insurance Related Forms" page.
