QuestionI went to the hospital without a Health Insurance Card, can I receive a refund?

Response

If you are unable to present your Health Insurance Card when receiving medical treatment at a medical institution, you will be required to pay the full amount out of pocket and later present your Health Insurance Card for reimbursement. However, some medical institutions may not allow for reimbursement at a later date.
In such cases, please apply for medical expense reimbursement at the Insurance and Pension Division. After a review of your application, the amount excluding your out-of-pocket expenses will be paid to you later (approximately 3 months after the application). Please note that there may be cases where payment is not granted based on the review results. Additionally, payments will not be made if more than 2 years have passed since the date you paid the medical expenses, so please be cautious.
