1 7th About Licensed Nursery Schools Regarding the principle that children cannot attend the Childcare Center on days when the Parent or Guardian is off work, it seems that outside the city, they can be accommodated, but in Inagi City it is prohibited. Is it possible to relax this rule?

If a Parent or Guardian is using a licensed Nursery School due to employment requirements and has difficulty taking time off for appointments such as medical visits or hair salons with their child, or for reasons such as refreshing themselves, it is possible to leave their child at the Nursery School. Please consult with the Nursery School where your child is currently enrolled.

Please note that depending on the nursery, there may be cases where it is difficult to provide staff support on Saturdays, and we may only be able to accept children for those who are working or have other commitments.

1 3 days Reduction in the Number of Buses The number of Keio and Odakyu buses has drastically decreased, making it very difficult to live, and I hope that the original number of buses will be restored as soon as possible.

The city has communicated the contents of your request to the bus operators. Among them, the bus operators have indicated that the implementation of this timetable revision is due to a chronic shortage of drivers, which is caused by factors such as the inability to secure the necessary number of drivers despite recruitment efforts, due to labor conditions including driver wages, and the need to comply with the "Standards for Improving Working Hours for Motor Vehicle Operators," commonly known as the "Improvement Standards Notification," which came into effect in April 2024. Therefore, it has become necessary to adjust the number of bus services to an appropriate level based on the availability of drivers in order to maintain bus operations, not just for this route.

The city will discuss the necessary matters for realizing transportation services that reflect the local situation regarding the opinions you have requested, in meetings such as the "Inagi City Regional Public Transportation Council," which is composed of representatives from each Neighborhood Association, various citizen groups, bus operators, and the police.

2 7th About the Misawa River Promenade (Benches) I love the Misawa River and come here for walks, but now that I am a Late-Stage Elderly, I wish there were something simple to sit on. I would like to see some basic seating installed.

Along the sidewalk by the Misawa River, there are currently six yellow temporary benches installed on the right bank sidewalk between the railing bridge near the Higashi-Naganuma area and the Misawa River waterfront park near the Yanokuchi area, and one bench on the left bank sidewalk.

Regarding the left bank sidewalk, there are many sections where it is difficult to secure the effective width of the sidewalk for pedestrians to pass safely if simple benches are installed. Therefore, the number of benches currently installed is low. At this time, we would appreciate it if you could use the right bank sidewalk while walking.

Regarding the left bank side, we will check the site and consider the installation of simple benches in areas where it is possible to do so.

3 17th About Transportation The bus service has decreased, and I am in trouble, so I would like to see more services added.

4 16th Inquiry about the plan for the removal of acacia trees along the Tamagawa River riverbed Regarding the felling of the acacia trees along the Tamagawa riverbed, we have not yet started the work, but what do you think?

Regarding the acacia tree-lined avenue located in the Tama River riverbed, in April 2020, the president of the Oshitate Neighborhood Association submitted a request letter to the mayor concerning the "Permanent Installation Request for the Omaru Yatogawa Drainage Pump." This request letter also included a request for the complete removal of the acacia tree-lined avenue.

In response to this, in July 2021, our city submitted a request to the Director of the Keihin River Office of the Kanto Regional Development Bureau of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism regarding "Efforts to Mitigate Damage in the Tama River during Disasters." Subsequently, after repeated discussions with the President of the Oshitate Neighborhood Association and the Keihin River Office regarding the felling of the acacia trees, a proposal for phased felling with the cooperation of a public interest incorporated foundation was made by the Keihin River Office. They requested that local residents reach an agreement as a condition for further discussions on its implementation. Therefore, in August 2023, the city submitted a letter to the President of the Oshitate Neighborhood Association requesting the formation of an agreement regarding the felling of acacia trees in the Oshitate area, and we asked for a response after achieving consensus among local residents.

In response to this, the Oshitate Neighborhood Association conducted a survey among local residents regarding the felling of the acacia tree-lined avenue. There were several requests opposing the plan, leading to the conclusion that consensus formation would be difficult. Consequently, in January of the 6th year of Reiwa, the president of the Oshitate Neighborhood Association submitted a document to the mayor regarding the withdrawal of requests concerning the felling of the acacia trees, which the city received, and this situation has continued to the present. The city will continue to discuss the acacia tree-lined avenue with the Oshitate Neighborhood Association and the Keihin River Office, and will carry out the felling of dead trees and underbrush clearing, striving to maintain a safe and secure park.

5 18th About Weeds and Illegal Dumping in Vacant Lots The weeds from the large vacant lot next door have spread to the sidewalk of Hirao Street, obstructing pedestrian traffic. Additionally, there is a lot of illegal dumping, making the scenery very poor. Is it possible for the city to take measures such as purchasing and managing the land?

Regarding the land for which we received your opinions, we confirmed on June 7 (Friday) that some trees were encroaching onto the sidewalk. Therefore, on June 10 (Monday), we met directly with the landowner and requested proper management.

As the city, we will closely monitor the management status of the relevant area. Furthermore, regarding the purchase of land, there are no plans for administrative use of the relevant area, so we do not intend to proceed with the purchase.

6 18th Traffic lights at the intersection of Gakuen Street and Hirao Street I would like a right turn arrow signal to be added at the traffic light at the intersection of Gakuen Street and Hirao Street towards Wakabadai.

The installation, management, and operation of traffic signals are carried out by the Tokyo Metropolitan Police, which is the traffic management authority. Regarding the request for the installation of a right turn arrow signal at the intersection of Sakahama Hirao Line and Gakuen Street, the city has been requesting the Tama Central Police Station for some time, but unfortunately, a right turn arrow signal has not been installed so far.

The city will continue to request the installation of right turn arrow signals.

27th About the Speed of Switching to Green Traffic Lights The pedestrian signal at the entrance of the Inagi Welfare Center changes from green to red too quickly. The green lasts about 20 seconds, while the red lasts about 2 minutes, so I would like the green to be extended a little longer.

Regarding the management of the traffic signals you inquired about, it is being handled by the Tokyo Metropolitan Police, which is the traffic management authority.

As a city, we will request the Tama Central Police Station, which oversees Inagi City, to extend the duration of the green signal for pedestrian traffic lights.

1 17th About Commercial Facilities There are few shops, large department stores, and entertainment facilities, so I would like a shopping mall to be built in front of the station. As a city, we are working on revitalizing the local economy and promoting Community Development so that residents can feel comfortable living here. However, regarding the opening of shopping malls and other establishments based on your feedback, the decision will be made by the private companies that will become the tenants, taking into account the opening status of nearby commercial facilities. Economic Affairs Section, Commerce Division
2 17th Proposal for Hot Spring Facilities I would like a public bath facility to be established in the southern part of Inagi City (Hirao area).

The city is working on revitalizing the local economy and promoting Community Development so that citizens can feel comfortable living here.

Regarding the opening of the hot spring facility for which we received your opinions, the decision will be made by the private company that will become the operator, based on the situation of nearby facilities and market research, as part of their management judgment.
