1 1 day About Children's Road Play Children in the neighborhood are playing ball and tag on the road in front of the house. Even when directly asked to stop, they do not listen, so I would like the city to raise awareness about not playing on the road.

The city is conducting traffic safety classes at each elementary school in collaboration with the Tama Central Police Station.

We are also planning a traffic safety class soon for the elementary schools that are in the requested areas, and we will conduct traffic safety awareness activities, such as distributing guidance and caution flyers regarding street play to the children.

In the future, we will strengthen patrols for a better road environment and strive for a safe and secure Community Development.

2 15th About the disabled parking lot for picnics at Wakabadai Park in Inagi City The sign for the disabled parking space has exposed nails, which is very dangerous. Also, the entrance and exit of the parking lot are narrow; would it be difficult to widen them?

The city is systematically implementing road pavement repairs and other related work throughout the city, prioritizing based on patrols by staff and information from local residents. We are also checking the current status of the roads you inquired about and will continue to consider pavement repairs based on the deterioration status of the pavement and other factors.

In the meantime, we will conduct regular inspections and carry out necessary partial repairs until improvements are made.

3 15th About the street tree maintenance on Land Saka Street Regarding the maintenance of the street trees along Land Slope Street from Yomiuriland under the elevated railway to Giants Town, I would like to request the consideration of adopting elegant red maples.

Street trees are maintained with the aim of preserving a good urban environment and creating a comfortable and lush streetscape. The "Basic Green Plan of Inagi City" selects tree species that allow residents to enjoy flowers and autumn leaves throughout the seasons, and aims to bring tranquility to daily life.

The section from the Keio Sagamihara Line to the Yomiuri Land Saka Tunnel is being widened and improved by the city under a contract with Tokyo. In this section, due to the constraints on the width of the sidewalk and the priority given to ensuring pedestrian safety, we plan to only plant low shrubs in areas where it is possible to do so. However, in the southeastern area of Nanyama (around Giants Town), we have also been considering the Japanese sweetgum as one of the candidates, and we will continue to coordinate with Tokyo, the future manager.

In the future, we will continue to promote the development of roads with rich street trees that have breadth and thickness to create and nurture greenery on the roads.

4 15th About the extension of the first Keio Bus and the improvement of the station's bicycle parking facilities I understand that there has been a timetable revision for Keio Bus and that there are circumstances such as a shortage of personnel at the bus company, but I think it is reasonable to reduce services during times when there are few users, such as during the day, and to enhance services during commuting hours. What do you think? Also, the current first bus departure time does not allow for commuting, so I am considering using a motorcycle to commute to the station, but there are only two temporary parking spots at Wakabadai Station. I would like the city to secure bicycle parking space.

The city has communicated the details you provided to the bus operators. Among these, regarding the implementation of the recent timetable revision, it has been reported that there is a chronic shortage of drivers due to factors such as the inability to secure the necessary number of drivers even when recruiting, stemming from labor conditions including driver wages, and the need to comply with the "Standards for Improving Working Hours of Motor Vehicle Operators," commonly known as the "Improvement Standards Notification," which applies to bus drivers starting from April 2024. Therefore, it has become necessary to adjust the number of bus services to an appropriate level based on the availability of drivers in order to maintain bus operations, not just for this route.

The city will request improvements to the reduced schedule during early morning hours when drivers are secured through the driver retention measures of the Business Operators.

In addition, the bicycle parking lot in front of Wakabadai Station, including the one at the station, is primarily operated as a regular parking area for bicycles mainly used for commuting and school, as well as for motorized bicycles under 50cc. However, we are considering conducting research on partnerships with nearby private facilities for bicycle parking in the future.

5 16th About Waste Separation I appreciate that various brochures and apps have been created for waste separation. However, I would like more detailed information on each material to be published on the app and website.

As you pointed out, in recent years, the changes in consumption patterns of goods and the diversification of products have made waste separation increasingly complex. We understand that due to the changes in modern society, such as the combined use of various new materials and the advancement of product packaging, it has become difficult for citizens to properly separate their waste.

Proper waste separation is important for achieving recycling and waste reduction by material type. However, overly detailed separation requirements can not only increase the burden and difficulty of understanding for citizens but may also complicate the information provided by the city. Taking these aspects into consideration, we will refer to the opinions received and work on improving the provision of separation information that is easy for citizens to understand.

6 16th About No Parking There is always a black car parked near Hirao Entrance Mound Park, so I would like it to be regulated. Regarding the parked vehicles near Hirao Nyujozuka Park that you requested, the city has requested the Tama Central Police Station, which is the traffic management authority, to strengthen the enforcement of parking violations in the vicinity of the requested location. 7 16th About Littering of Cigarettes Please be aware that there is littering of cigarette butts in the green space on the south side of Hirao Valley Road, so I would like you to put up warning posters and the like.

Upon checking the area you suggested, we found cigarette butts discarded near the entrance (waterway) of the southern green space (designated No. 10 green space of Inagi City) from Hirao Yato Street.

On April 16, we collected cigarette butts and installed a warning sign stating "Dangerous Walking While Smoking - No Littering". We will continue to monitor the situation going forward.

1 21st Regarding the absence of lunch for schoolchildren immediately after the start of classes or the lack of school meals Please explain logically the reason for the absence of lunch for schoolchildren immediately after the start of classes or the lack of school meals.

In preparation for the start of the new school year's School Lunch program, the joint kitchen receives reports from each school regarding the number of classes and the number of students in each class based on the number of attendees on the day of the entrance ceremony, and confirms the number of meals to be provided. Additionally, it is necessary to finalize the order quantities for ingredients a few days before the start of the lunch program.

In the city's Elementary and Junior High Schools, in order to promote desirable eating habits through School Lunch, it is necessary to instruct students on the methods of serving and cleaning up after meals, hygiene during lunch, group organization related to classroom life, and the division of roles and responsibilities for lunch duty before the start of the lunch service.

Based on the above, we kindly ask for your understanding that the start date for school lunches will be a few days after the entrance ceremony.

2 1 day Distribution of GPS to Elementary School Students I would like GPS devices, like those being distributed in Shinagawa Ward, to be provided to elementary school students.

In our city, we conduct activities to monitor children during their commute to and from school by School Guard Leaders, as well as greeting activities by Commissioned Welfare Volunteers during children's commutes. Additionally, we carry out patrols along school routes using patrol cars equipped with blue rotating lights, conducted by city staff and registered crime prevention organizations, to ensure the safety of children in the community.

As for the distribution of GPS-enabled safety buzzers to elementary school students, the city is not considering implementing this at the current stage.

If you wish to have your child bring personal mobile phones with GPS functionality, please consult with the school regarding the handling of this matter.

1 4th Start Time for Cleaning at the Senior Employment Center The cleaning of Koyodai Ushisan Park is being done by two men from the Senior Employment Center, but the start time is early, around 6 AM in the summer, and it started at 7 AM this morning, which is noisy due to the use of machinery. I have called the Senior Employment Center about four times, but the situation has not improved, so I would like them to address this issue.

We sincerely apologize for the great inconvenience caused by the noise from early morning, and for the lack of improvement despite repeated requests.

According to the Senior Employment Center, regarding the park cleaning in question, it was stated that (1) depending on the workday and location, about 7 people are active as one group (members are fixed), (2) even during the harsh summer heat, work starts at 8 AM, (3) some members among them have been coming early and starting before the designated work start time, and (4) since there have been phone calls, they have been advised each time not to start early. However, it seems that over time, the start time has gradually been getting earlier.

We have formally requested the Senior Employment Center to make strict improvements to avoid causing inconvenience to the neighboring residents, as noted in the "Suggestions to City Administration." We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.

2 30th About the Comprehensive Gymnasium Reception The staff at the Comprehensive Gymnasium reception consists of two members, each attending to visitors, and when the phone rings, they do not answer it, stating, 'The counter takes priority.' However, is it not a problem that they do not answer the phone at all just because the counter takes priority? After several calls, since the counter is busy, shouldn't they provide a message indicating that they cannot answer the phone?

We sincerely apologize for the discomfort caused to our customers due to our inadequate response. We also appreciate your valuable feedback regarding the staff's service at the Comprehensive Gymnasium.

Based on the opinions you provided, the designated administrator will strengthen the guidance and management of staff hospitality, and we have received a report that the message "The reception is currently busy, please call back after a while" will be changed to flow during the 6-call.

The city will receive reports during regular meetings with the designated administrator to verify the effects of improvements and will continuously monitor the operational status of the designated administrator.

We sincerely take your feedback to heart and will continue to strive for improvements to provide better services to everyone.

3 16th Regarding the display of surnames on the map of the Mibokai Neighborhood Association There is a map of the Hirao Nyujoduka Children's Park Neighborhood Association, which displays the residents' surnames, and this may not be good for crime prevention.

We will convey your opinions regarding the residential map and other matters at Hirao Nyujoduka Children's Park to the Hirao Residential Development Neighborhood Association, which is the organizer.

In addition, regarding your opinions on the residential map in the Mibokai, the Mibokai, which is the installer, has been dissolved, and the former Mibokai and Hirao Neighborhood Association are currently discussing the status of the map, so I will convey this to the Hirao Neighborhood Association.

4 16th About the tourist map posters, etc.
  1. I think it would be good to put a tourist map poster on the map located in Hirao Nyujoduka Children's Park.
  2. If no houses are built on the vacant land near the southern green space of Hirao Yato Street, I think putting up a tourist map would attract popularity.
  3. It seems that a tourist map has been issued in Inagi City, but since the entire city is quite extensive, I think it would be better to install bulletin boards and signs near popular places like Yomiuriland.
  1. Regarding the suggestion board, it is not managed by the city, but as one of the contents of tourism projects within the city, we will consider ways to disseminate information so that historical sites, restaurants, and old houses can be utilized.
  2. Regarding the proposed tourist signs, there are no plans for installation; however, we will use them as a reference for future tourism policies aimed at creating local attractions.
  3. Currently, the city issues various maps such as the tourism map "Inagi Burari Sanpo," the cycling map "Inagi Potari Biyori," and the walking map "Inagi Aruku Map." We have also set up courses by region and purpose to make it easier to explore the city, so please make use of them. Please note that there are no plans to install new bulletin boards or signs on the roads.
In recent years, the majority of tourism information has shifted from printed materials to online resources using smartphones and other devices, and we will continue to provide information in that direction.
