Since July 2015, there have been consultations reported to various Consumer Affairs Centers regarding "Business Operators" impersonating U-NEXT, attempting to collect payments under the pretext of unpaid fees for paid videos via SMS (hereinafter referred to as "Fake U-NEXT").
The Consumer Affairs Agency has provided information indicating that there are acts that may unjustly harm consumers' interests in transactions with Fake U-NEXT, based on the provisions of Article 38, Paragraph 1 of the Consumer Safety Act (Act No. 50 of 2009), such as deceiving or intimidating consumers to confuse them. Therefore, we are informing consumers to prevent the occurrence or expansion of consumer damage.
