As of October 1, 2018, the Friendship Center project has started in the Nagamine District. This is the 9th area targeted and the 8th Friendship Center.
The Friendship Center is a place established and operated by the Social Welfare Council with the support of Inagi City, aiming to create a space that anyone, regardless of age or gender, can easily visit, often referred to as a "community engawa".
Inagi City's aging rate is the lowest in Tokyo, but we have been proactively addressing future challenges for over 20 years.
Initially named the Community Center, it was established in Hirao in 1997, followed by the opening of centers in Oshitate, Sakahama, and Yanokuchi in 1998, and it was renamed the Friendship Center in 2000. Centers were opened in Momura and Higashi-Naganuma in 2002, Koyodai in 2006, and Omaru in 2012.

The function of the Friendship Center is to "discover" issues within the community, allow for easy "consultation", gather "information" through people's visits, and connect to "support".
The actual operation is centered around coordinators from each district, with the participation of cooperative members and volunteers, and is established through cooperative relationships with local Neighborhood Associations, Commissioned Welfare Volunteers, Greenery Clubs, etc. Participants enjoy conversations over tea, engage in light exercises or games, and spend their time freely and actively, with specific activities varying by region.
The Friendship Center operates in locations that can be borrowed according to the circumstances of each district, such as public facilities like elementary schools and Welfare Centers, as well as district facilities like Neighborhood Association halls and senior citizen centers. The Friendship Center Nagamine is conducted within the Nagamine Oasis.
The Nagamine Oasis is a convenience facility established by Inagi City, which leases it from Asuka Souken Co., Ltd. in conjunction with the construction of their office, and is open to the community as a community space for the Nagamine District.
The facility as a whole is available from 8:30 AM to 10:00 PM, with management requested from the Nagamine Federation from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM and from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, while the city entrusts management to the Senior Employment Center from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The Friendship Center activities are conducted in a corner of this facility on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, but this does not hinder the use of the Nagamine Oasis during that time. We hope that more citizens will use it as a community space.
With the establishment of the Friendship Center in Nagamine, only Wakabadai remains. This area is the youngest town in the city, but we hope to develop it in the near future.
