(Inagi Newsletter December 15, 2012 issue)

To directly exchange opinions with citizens, we held Town Hall Meetings in all districts of the city this fiscal year as well. Starting from the Yanokuchi District on October 9 and continuing to the Nagamine District on November 13, we held a total of 10 meetings.
Each venue was open from 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM. Although the time was short, I explained the main projects for this fiscal year in the first half, and in the second half, we received opinions and questions from participants, allowing for lively exchanges of ideas.
At each venue, we received opinions regarding local issues, with the most requests being for repairs and improvements to roads and Public Facilities. We apologize for any inconveniences caused and will consider addressing urgent matters within this fiscal year, while other issues will be addressed sequentially in the following fiscal year.
The next most common feedback was related to disaster prevention, following last year's Great East Japan Earthquake. We will strive to ensure that the projects included in this year's initial budget are executed steadily within the fiscal year, and we will continue to strengthen disaster prevention measures in the following years.
Additionally, we received requests for increased i-bus services and changes to routes, as well as opinions regarding the introduction of paid parking. We will consider these opinions as we work on improvements sequentially.
Thank you very much to everyone who participated despite being tired in the evening. For those who could not attend, we encourage you to continue sharing your opinions and proposals regarding City Administration.
As we approach the year-end and New Year, we will begin the budget preparation process for the next fiscal year. The direction of the national budget is fluid due to the general election, but we will continue to work hard to create a solid budget with a focus on safe and secure Community Development as a major issue.
