I was injured in a traffic accident. Can I use my insurance card?

Update date: April 1, 2016

As a general rule, the assailant should bear the full amount of medical expenses for injuries sustained as a result of the actions of a third party, such as in a traffic accident. However, if the compensation is delayed, you can temporarily receive treatment from the National Health Insurance. However, the National Health Insurance will bill the perpetrator later, so be sure to notify the insurance and pension division of the city hall.
Please note that if a settlement has been reached or if you have received medical expenses from the assailant before you notify the National Health Insurance and Pension Division, you will not be able to receive treatment.
For the documents required for notification, please check the "Required Documents for Third-Party Act" on the "Application Form Download" page .
