I am worried about medical expenses. I would like to know about reimbursement of medical expenses.

Updated: April 1, 2015

If the copayment amount for medical expenses increases in the same month, and the application is approved, the amount exceeding the copayment limit (the limit differs for those under 70 years old and those over 70 years old) will be covered. It will be paid as high-cost medical expenses. In addition, for those eligible, we will send an application form for high-cost medical expenses to the householder about three months after receiving medical treatment.
In addition, please apply in advance for the issuance of a “Ceiling Application Certificate” or “Ceiling Application/Standard Contribution Reduction Certificate” (it may not be issued if there is unpaid insurance tax) and be insured at a medical institution. By presenting this along with your ID card, you can reduce the monthly payment amount at each medical institution to the maximum copayment amount in advance. (Expenses not covered by insurance, such as room charges for hospitalization, will be paid separately.)
