- Light Vehicle Tax (Type Division) (Note 2)
- Note 1: The years for which you can issue are four years, including the current year. (Example: For an application on April 1, 2023, it is for the years 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023.)
- Note 2: As of January 2023, the tax payment certificate for continued inspection that can be used for light vehicle inspections is generally no longer required.
Main Items
Tax amount to be paid, amount already paid, and unpaid amount (amount due and delinquent amount).
Income amount will not be listed. (If you need a certificate that includes the income amount, please apply for the Taxation Certificate or Non-Taxation Certificate.)
Notes: The "Amount Paid" will reflect the amount confirmed at City Hall. It takes about 2 to 3 weeks after payment for the confirmation at City Hall and the issuance of the tax payment certificate (for the light vehicle inspection tax payment certificate, it takes about 3 days). If you need a tax payment certificate reflecting the paid amount immediately after payment, please bring a receipt with a stamp from a financial institution or convenience store.
Fee
1 tax item for 1 fiscal year (Corporate Municipal Resident Tax for 1 business year): 300 yen (an additional 100 yen for mail delivery)
The tax payment certificate for continued inspection, which can be used for light vehicle inspections, is free of charge.
Eligible Persons
- Taxpayer (including special collection obligors and those with representative authority in corporations.)
- Relatives of the same household residing in the city (including Tokyo partnership oath takers).
- Agent (A power of attorney is required. For details, please see "In the case of an agent" below.)

- Note:If the applicant is a Tokyo Partnership Declarant, a Certificate of Acceptance for the Tokyo Partnership Declaration System is required.
- Note:When a person with representative authority in a corporation applies for a certificate related to that corporation, the corporation's representative seal must be affixed to the Application Form.

In the case of a representative

- Power of Attorney (Signature and seal of the necessary party (taxpayer) are required. The format is free, but it can also be downloaded from below.)
- Fee
- Note 1:Even if you are an agent, in the case of applying for the tax payment certificate for the continuation inspection of light vehicles, a power of attorney is not required as long as the name and address of the taxpayer and the vehicle number can be correctly verified.
- Note 2:When an employee of a corporation applies for a certificate related to that corporation, it is necessary to affix the representative seal of the corporation on the Application Form and present documents that prove the employee's status (such as an employee ID).

Request by Mail
If you live far away or have other reasons that make it difficult to come to the counter, we also accept requests by mail, so please make use of this option.
In the case of a mail request, please enclose the following documents and send them to the Revenue Division. We will send you the tax payment certificate at a later date.
- Application Form for Issuance of Tax Payment Certificate (It is available at the counter. You can also download it from below. In the case of a corporation, please affix the representative's seal.)
- Copy of identification documents (For details, please see the page on "Identification Verification at the Collection Division.")
- Fixed amount postal money order for fees (purchased at the post office)
- Envelope with a postage stamp affixed for reply
- If the applicant is a representative, a power of attorney is required (the signature and seal of the necessary party (taxpayer) are required. The format is free, but it can also be downloaded from below. In the case of applying for a tax certificate for the continuation inspection of a light vehicle, a copy of the vehicle inspection certificate can be used as a substitute.)
- If the applicant is a Tokyo partnership oath taker (resident of the city) from the same household, a copy of the Tokyo partnership oath system acceptance certificate is required.

Reception Date and Time
City Hall hours (weekdays) are from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
Holiday hours (in principle, the second Sunday and fourth Saturday of each month) are from 8:30 AM to 11:45 AM and 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM
