At designated medical institutions in Inagi City, we will provide you with the "Subsidy Voucher (and Vaccination Pre-Examination Form)" along with the "Notice of Subsidy for Optional Vaccination: Inagi City Mumps Vaccination Costs." Please read it in advance and ensure that you fully understand and agree to the necessity of vaccination and potential side effects before receiving the vaccination.
Health Damage Relief System for Vaccination
The mumps vaccination is treated as a non-mandatory vaccination not based on the Vaccination Law. If this vaccination results in health damage such as diseases requiring hospitalization or disabilities that significantly restrict daily life, it may be eligible for relief under the "Pharmaceutical Side Effects Relief System" based on the Independent Administrative Institution Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency Act. Additionally, the "National Mayors' Association" vaccination accident compensation insurance may apply. Please first contact the Inagi City Health Division (Health Center).
About Mumps and the Mumps Vaccine
Mumps is an infectious disease that can affect a wide range of individuals from infants and young children to adults. The issue with this infectious disease is that it frequently causes complications regardless of age. In infants and young children and school-aged children, it can lead to (1) aseptic meningitis, (2) acute pancreatitis, and (3) sensorineural hearing loss. In particular, statistics report that sensorineural hearing loss occurs in 1 out of every 500 to 1,000 patients, and it is also a significant factor in the development of treatment-resistant acquired fistulas.
In addition, if contracted during adulthood, it is highly likely to be associated with orchitis or oophoritis, which can also be cited as a cause of subsequent infertility.
In this way, mumps is an infectious disease that significantly affects all life stages, not just children.
By receiving the mumps vaccination, you can reduce the risk of infection and onset of mumps.
