Please tell me how to pay the long-term care insurance premium.

Updated: September 5, 2024

Over 65 years old

If you have a resident card in Inagi City, each person pays to Inagi City regardless of the medical insurance or dependents you are enrolled in.

Special collection (deducted from pension)

<People with a basic pension of 180,000 yen or more per year>
In the case of pension supply six times a year, it is transferred to account after long-term care insurance charges are deducted from pension. The amount deducted per time is not even and is as shown in the table below.

Apr. Jun. Aug. Oct. Dec. Feb.
Provisional collection (same amount as last February) {Confirmed amount of insurance premium for the year - (April + June)} / 4 times

In April and June, the resident tax for that fiscal year has not been finalized (it is finalized in June), so the same amount as in February is provisionally collected. The annual insurance premium is calculated in July, and the amount collected is adjusted from August onwards.

Even if your pension is 180,000 yen or more per year, you may be able to make a temporary payment using a payment slip.

  • when you turn 65
  • When moving in from another municipality
  • When you start receiving your pension
In general, deductions from your pension will begin six months to a year later. Until then, you can pay by regular collection (by payment slip or direct debit).
  • When premiums increase during the year
The increased amount can be paid by ordinary collection (by payment slip or direct debit).
  • When premiums are reduced in the middle of the year
  • When your pension is temporarily suspended
Special collection (deductions from pensions) will be temporarily suspended. Until it resumes, you can pay by ordinary collection (by payment slip or direct debit).

Payment by payment slip or bank transfer <ordinary collection>

<Those who receive a basic public pension of less than 180,000 yen per year, those who have turned 65, those who have moved to Inagi City, etc.>
The annual amount is paid in nine installments from July to March of the following year. (Those who become insured by Inagi City after July generally begin paying the following month.)
We will send you a payment slip, so please pay by the due date indicated.

Account transfer

We recommend paying your long-term care insurance premiums by bank transfer, which is convenient and safe. It saves you the hassle of going to pay your bills, and you don't have to worry about forgetting to pay. Please use all means. (It takes approximately one and a half to two months from application to start.)
There are two ways to apply.

(1) Applying by direct debit request form
Direct debit application forms are available at financial institutions that accept direct debits in the city and at Inagi City Hall. If you would like to make a direct debit, please contact the counter of your financial institution or the Senior Citizens' Welfare Division.
