QuestionPlease tell me about housing renovations for Older Adults.

Response

Individuals certified as requiring nursing care or support

(Preventive Care) Housing Renovation Subsidy

We provide financial assistance for home renovations to live comfortably and safely in your familiar home.

Application required in advance

Before renovation work, an application is required at the city office. Please consult with your care manager or the Community General Support Center to decide on the construction location and contractor, and submit your application to the city office.

You can renovate with partial cost burden

For the same residence, the cost limit is 200,000 yen per person. (In principle, it is limited to once.)
If it is within the limit of 200,000 yen, it is also possible to use it in several installments.
If you move or if the level of care required increases to a certain extent, it will be provided again.

Repayment and Delegated Payment
  • Reimbursement payment... After the insured pays the full amount of the expenses to the Business Operators, the insurance benefits will be provided from the city to the insured.
  • Delegated Payment... The insured person pays only the amount of their own cost burden to the Business Operators, and the city directly pays the insurance benefit portion to the Business Operators.

Individuals certified as "Not Applicable (Independent)" in long-term care certification

Benefits are provided to those who are generally 65 years of age or older and have been recognized by the city as needing home modifications for the prevention of care. If necessary, installations such as handrails and solutions for step elimination can be carried out, so please consult the Senior Welfare Division.
