A Certificate of Residence removal refers to a Certificate of Residence that has been canceled due to relocation, death, etc., and is marked as "removal."
In addition to the information recorded in the Certificate of Residence, the removal will include the new address and date of relocation in the case of relocation, and the date of death in the case of death.

Request for Issuance of Removal Certificate

Billing Location

Notice: The convenience store issuance service using the My Number Card cannot be obtained.

Eligible Persons for Claims

  • 本人
  • Legal Representative (in cases where the person is under 15 years old or is an adult under guardianship)
  • Voluntary agent with a power of attorney
  • Those who have a vested interest in the deceased and require removal from the registry for the exercise of their rights or the fulfillment of their obligations.

NoticeEven if you were a member of the same household while residing in Inagi City, a power of attorney is required when someone other than the individual requests the removal of the registration.

Personal Request

Request by Legal Representative

  • Identification documents for legal representatives (For information on identification documents, please check the page on "Identification for Various Notifications and Requests.")
  • Documents for confirming the authority of a legal representative (such as a family register or certificate of registered matters)

Voluntary Agent Request

  • Identification documents for the voluntary agent (For information on identification documents, please check the page on "Identification for Various Notifications and Requests.")
  • Power of Attorney

Note:The power of attorney must be filled out entirely by the grantor. (Download Application Form "Forms Related to Power of Attorney" page)

Request for removal of the deceased from the registry by interested parties with the right to request

  • Identification documents of the applicant (For information on identification documents, please check the page on "Identification for Various Notifications and Requests.")
  • Documents that show the relationship between the deceased and the claimant, documents that clarify the claim authority, etc.
  • Example) If necessary for inheritance procedures → Documents that clarify the relationship between the deceased and the claimant (family register, etc.)
  • Example) When necessary for receiving death benefits → Documents that list the claimant as the beneficiary (such as the Health Insurance Card)

Issuance Fee

  • Counter Request: 300 yen
  • Mail Request: 400 yen

About the Retention Period

The retention period for removal records has been changed to 150 years due to a partial revision of the Enforcement Order of the Basic Resident Register Act (effective June 20, 2019).
Since the previous retention period was 5 years from the year of removal, Inagi City cannot issue certificates that were removed before March 31, 2014.

Points to Note for Requesting Removal from the Registry

  • It is not possible to enter the personal number (My Number) of the deceased.
  • Regarding requests from Japanese residents, unless there are special requests, the registered domicile, head of household, relationship, name of the head of household, Certificate of Residence code, and personal number (My Number) will generally be omitted.
  • Regarding requests from foreign residents, unless there are special requests, the relationship to the head of the household, the name of the head of the household, nationality/region, residency status, alias history, Certificate of Residence code, and personal number (My Number) will generally be omitted.
  • In the case of third-party claims due to receivables, payables, etc., supporting documents (related materials) corresponding to the reason for the claim are required.
