Warning about a company impersonating DMM.com Co., Ltd. that uses SMS to trick users into paying unpaid fees for paid video sites

An SMS (Short Message Service) is sent to the consumer's mobile phone stating, "We cannot confirm the payment for the paid content usage. If we do not hear from you by the end of the day, we will move to legal proceedings." Businesses that try to force consumers who contact the telephone number listed in , to pay money under the guise of unpaid fees for paid videos by telling consumers that they will withdraw the legal proceedings if payment is made by the end of the day. Consultations pertaining to this have been sent to local consumer affairs centers, etc.
From the Consumer Affairs Agency, based on the provisions of Article 38, Paragraph 1 of the Consumer Safety Act (Act No. 50 of 2009), in transactions with "DMM" etc. We have received information that there is an act that may unfairly harm the interests of consumers (confused by deceiving or intimidating consumers). We inform all consumers.
