Calling attention to businesses calling themselves "elderly support centers"

A business operator calling itself an "elderly support center," which is reminiscent of a public institution, asks consumers to cancel their personal information registration, claiming that their personal information has been leaked and has been registered with another organization. Consultation related to a technique in which multiple groups or persons (hereinafter referred to as "related parties") appear and make various demands to the consumer, and in the end, send a large amount of cash to the consumer by courier service. are sent to local consumer affairs centers.
Based on the provisions of Article 38, Paragraph 1 of the Consumer Safety Act (Law No. 50 of 2009), the Consumer Affairs Agency has issued a notice that there is a risk of unfair harm to the interests of consumers in transactions with senior citizen support centers and related parties. We have received information that there is a certain act (defrauding or intimidating consumers to confuse them), so we would like to inform consumers in order to prevent the occurrence or expansion of consumer damage.
Note: In addition to the "elderly support center", similar names such as "elderly welfare support center" and "elderly life support volunteer center" may be used.
