Warning about companies that claim to be collecting unpaid fees from paid video sites and other services and request money

Updated: May 9, 2017

SMS (Short Message Service) or e-mails on consumers' mobile phones or computers stating, "There is an unpaid payment for paid videos. If we do not hear from you by the end of the day, we will move to legal proceedings." or call the consumer's mobile phone and leave a history of incoming calls, and then tell the consumer who called back, "There is an unpaid fee for the paid video site, and the site operator should collect the unpaid fee." If there is no payment, we will have no choice but to take legal measures." Consultations pertaining to this have been sent to local consumer affairs centers, etc.
From the Consumer Affairs Agency, based on the provisions of Article 38, Paragraph 1 of the Consumer Safety Act (Law No. 50 of 2009), it is called "Nippon Claims Co., Ltd.", "TSB Claims Collection" or "CIC Claims Collection Center" In transactions with business operators, there was information that there was an act that could unfairly harm the interests of consumers (confusion by deceiving or intimidating consumers). In order to prevent the spread, we will inform consumers.

Note: “Japan Servicer Co., Ltd.” (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) and “TSB Servicer Co., Ltd.”, which have business names similar to the business in question and are debt collection companies licensed by the Minister of Justice. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo) and CIC Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo), which has been designated as a designated credit information agency under the Installment Sales Act, etc. is totally irrelevant.

Note: (Please be careful not to confuse it with a company with the same name or a similar name.)
