Illegal Waste Collection Businesses

Recently, flyers stating "We will collect unwanted items for free" and "Notice of free collection of home appliances, metals, and industrial products" have been circulating in the Oshitate area of the city.
When residents requested disposal from such unwanted item collection businesses, there have been reports to various Consumer Affairs Centers stating, "I thought it was free, but after loading it into the truck, I was charged a high fee," "I was charged more than double the amount I was initially quoted," and "The items collected by the company were illegally dumped."
Furthermore, if you hand over items to such unwanted item collection businesses, there is a risk that proper recycling will not be conducted, leading to environmental pollution and illegal dumping both domestically and internationally.
While the city provides guidance to illegal collection businesses as necessary, we also ask residents to dispose of unwanted items from their homes in accordance with the city's household waste disposal rules.
