Start of wide-area processing acceptance of disaster waste generated by the Noto Peninsula earthquake in Reiwa 6

In the disaster area of the Noto Peninsula Earthquake in Reiwa 6, a large amount of disaster waste has been generated due to the demolition and removal of damaged houses, and it has become urgent to process these appropriately, smoothly, and quickly from the perspective of preserving the living environment and ensuring public health. Recently, based on requests from the Ministry of the Environment and Ishikawa Prefecture, acceptance has begun at cleaning plants in Tokyo.

Wajima City, Suzu City, Ishikawa Prefecture

2 Types of Disaster Waste, etc.

Combustible waste (including wood scraps)

3 Estimated Processing Volume (Maximum Processing Volume)

Up to 40,000 tons (total until March 31, 2026, in Tokyo, Yokohama, and Kawasaki)

4 Acceptance Period

From September 27, 2024, to March 31, 2026
However, this may change depending on the situation of building demolitions in the disaster-affected areas.
