1 The 7th Licensed nursery schools Regarding the principle that children are not allowed to attend daycare centers on days when their parents are off work, it seems that there are daycare centers outside the city that will look after them, but it is prohibited in Inagi City. Would it be possible for this rule to be relaxed? If parents who are currently using a licensed nursery school due to working requirements take time off and have to go to a hospital or beauty salon or other event that makes it difficult for them to accompany their child, or if they want to refresh themselves, it is possible to leave their child at the nursery school, so please consult with the nursery school where your child is currently being sent.
Please note that depending on the nursery school, it may be difficult to accommodate children on Saturdays due to staffing issues, and we may only accept children from parents who are working.

1 3 days Reduction in the number of buses The number of Keio buses and Odakyu buses has been drastically reduced, making life very difficult, so I would like the number of buses to be restored to their original levels as soon as possible. The city has informed the route bus operator of the contents of their request. In the report, the bus operator explained that the reason for this timetable revision was due to a chronic driver shortage caused by the inability to secure the necessary number of drivers even when recruiting due to the working environment, including driver wages, and the need to comply with the "Standards for improving the working hours of automobile drivers," also known as the "Improvement Standards Notification," which applies to bus drivers and others and came into effect in April 2024, and that in order to maintain the bus business, not only for this route, it was necessary to adjust the number of buses appropriately according to the driver availability.
The city will discuss your opinions at the Inagi City Regional Public Transportation Council, which is made up of representatives of local neighborhood associations and civic groups, bus operators, police, and others, and discusses matters necessary to realize transportation services that are suited to local conditions.

2 The 7th About the Misawa River Promenade (Benches) I love the Misawa River and come here for walks, but as I've become a senior citizen, I've come to think that it would be nice to have something to sit on easily. I'd like something simple to install. Currently, there are six yellow temporary benches installed on the sidewalk along the Misawa River, between the parapet bridge in Higashinagumanuma district and the Misawa River Waterfront Park in Yanoguchi district, on the sidewalk on the right bank of the river, and one on the sidewalk on the left bank.
As for the sidewalk on the left bank, there are many sections where installing simple benches would make it difficult to ensure the effective width of the sidewalk for pedestrians to pass safely, so currently the number of benches being installed is limited. Therefore, for now, we would ask that you walk on the right bank.
On the left bank, we will check the site and consider installing simple benches in any locations where it is possible.

3 17th Transportation The bus services have been reduced and it is causing problems, so I would like them to increase the number of services.

4 16th Regarding the plan for felling acacia trees along the Tama River Regarding the felling of the acacia trees lining the Tama River embankment, no work has yet begun. What are your thoughts on this? Regarding the acacia trees lining the Tama River riverbed, the head of the Osatate neighborhood association submitted a request to the mayor in April 2020 regarding the "permanent installation of a drainage pump at the Omaru-Yatogawa sluice gate (culvert)," which also included a request for the felling of all of the acacia trees lining the river.
In response to this, in July 2021, the city submitted a request to the head of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism's Kanto Regional Development Bureau Keihin River Office for "efforts to reduce damage to the Tama River in the event of a disaster." After that, after repeated discussions with the head of the Osatate Neighborhood Association and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism's Kanto Regional Development Bureau Keihin River Office (hereinafter referred to as the Keihin River Office) regarding the felling of the acacia trees, the Keihin River Office proposed a gradual felling with the cooperation of a public interest incorporated foundation, and requested that the local residents agree to the proposed felling as a condition for discussions toward its implementation. For this reason, in August 2023, the city submitted a request to the head of the Osatate Neighborhood Association for "consensus building for felling the acacia trees in the Osatate area," requesting that the local residents agree to the felling and then respond.
In response to this, the Osatate Neighborhood Association conducted a survey of local residents regarding the felling of the Acacia Trees Lined Road in an effort to reach a consensus among local residents. However, there were over a dozen objections and it was determined that reaching a consensus would be difficult. As a result, in January 2024, the chairman of the Osatate Neighborhood Association submitted a document to the mayor regarding the "withdrawal of the request regarding the felling of the Acacia Trees Lined Road," which was accepted by the city, and this is where we are today.
As a city, we will continue to discuss the acacia tree-lined street with the Osatate Neighborhood Association and the Keihin River Office, and will take measures such as cutting down dead trees and cutting undergrowth, in an effort to maintain a safe and secure park.

5 18th Regarding weeds and illegal dumping in vacant lots The weeds in the large vacant lot next door are growing onto the sidewalk on Hirao Street, blocking people's passage. There is also a lot of illegal dumping, which makes the scenery very unsightly. Is there anything the city can do to buy the land and manage it? Regarding the land in question, we inspected the site on Friday, June 7th and found that some of the trees had crossed over onto the sidewalk. As a result, we met with the landowner directly on Monday, June 10th to request proper management.
The city will continue to closely monitor the management status of the land. As for purchasing the land, since there are no administrative plans to use the land, we have no plans to do so.

6 18th Regarding the traffic lights at the intersection of Gakuen-dori and Hirao-dori Regarding the traffic lights at the intersection of Gakuen-dori and Hirao-dori, I would like a right-turn arrow signal installed in the direction of Wakabadai. The Metropolitan Police Department, which is the traffic administrator, is responsible for the installation, management, and operation of traffic lights. In response to your request, we have been making requests to install a right-turn arrow signal at the intersection of Tama 3-4-17 Sakahama-Hirao Line and Gakuen-dori Street, and the city has been making requests to Tama Chuo Police Station for some time now, but unfortunately no right-turn arrow signal has been installed so far.
As a city, we will continue to request the installation of right-turn arrow signals.

27th Regarding the speed of changing green lights The pedestrian signal at the entrance to the Inagi Welfare Center changes from green to red too quickly. The green light lasts for about 20 seconds, while the red light lasts for about 2 minutes. I wish the green light would be longer. Regarding the management of the traffic lights you inquired about, it is the Metropolitan Police Department, which is the traffic administrator.
As a city, we will request the Tama Central Police Station, which has jurisdiction over Inagi City, to extend the green light time on pedestrian traffic signals.

1 17th About commercial facilities There are not many shops, large department stores, or entertainment facilities, so I would like a shopping mall to be built in front of the station. As a city, we are working to revitalize the local economy and promote the creation of a lively town so that all our residents can feel comfortable living in the city. However, with regard to the opening of shopping malls and other stores as mentioned in your opinion, decisions will be made at the management discretion of the private companies that will be opening stores, taking into account the opening situation of nearby commercial facilities, etc. Economy Section Commerce and Industry Section
2 17th Hot spring facility proposal I would like to see a public bath facility established in the southern part of Inagi City (Hirao area). The city is working to revitalize the local economy and promote the creation of a lively town so that all residents can feel at ease in their home.
Regarding the opening of the hot spring facilities mentioned in your opinion, the decision will be made by the private company that will be opening the facility based on its business judgment, taking into account the situation of neighboring facilities, marketing research, etc.
