Express application for issuance (application for My Number card)

It usually takes about one month from application to receipt of a My Number card, but from December 2, 2024, it has become possible to issue My Number cards in about one week to infants and those who have lost their cards.
(1) Apply for the card at your city hall or branch office → (2) Pick up the card at your home (registered residence), etc.
For newborns, you can apply for a My Number card at the same time as submitting your birth notification. For details, please see "【Submitting a birth notification application】Express My Number card issuance (My Number card issuance application)" .
In addition, in the case of express issuance, a re-issuance fee in the event of loss, etc. will be charged at 2,000 yen (1,800 yen if no electronic certificate is included).
Note: The normal reissue fee is 1,000 yen (800 yen if no electronic certificate is installed).

Requirements for express issuance
Express issuance is available to those who meet the following criteria:

Time from application to receipt
It will take about one week from the time of application.<br id="3"/>However, it may take more than a week for your card to arrive if the following conditions apply:
- If your name or address contains external characters and automatic character conversion is not possible
- When there are a lot of requests for express issuance nationwide
- When the period includes public holidays or the New Year holidays
- Infants under 0 years old whose registered residence is not in Inagi City
How to apply [For those who are obtaining a card for the first time]
Please bring the necessary documents to the Citizens Division Citizen Counter or Hirao/Wakabadai Branch Office and apply in person.
Required documents
(1) Two pieces of identity verification documents A or one piece of identity verification document A + one piece of identity verification document B or one piece of identity verification document S + two pieces of identity verification document B (see "List of identity verification documents" below)
(2) Notification card (if you have one)
(3) Basic Resident Registration Card (if you have one)
Note: Your face photo will be taken using a dedicated terminal at the Citizens' Affairs Division (for those 1 year old or older). If you bring a face photo, please make sure it was taken within the last 6 months, has no background, and is without a hat (L-size portrait recommended). In addition, for infants, the My Number card photo will be omitted, so there is no need to bring one.
If the person is under 15 years of age or an adult ward, the following documents are also required.
In addition, both the person and their legal representative must be present at the office.

(5) [If the person is under 15 years old] A copy of the family register (not required if the person and the legal representative are from the same household or if the person’s registered domicile is in Inagi City)

How to receive
The document will be sent by a national agency directly to the address on your resident registration by express or registered mail.
You will receive the envelope containing your My Number card from the postal worker.
Notes
- Please note that the quality of photos taken with the dedicated device will be inferior to photos taken at a photo studio, etc. (They have the same resolution as a smartphone).
- Photos taken cannot be handed over.
- The photo is free of charge.
- The application will be reviewed by a national agency. If there are any defects in the photo, etc., we will contact you by phone. In that case, you will need to come to the office again.
- Please enter the PIN number to be set on your My Number Card on the application form.
- If an issuance fee is incurred, you will be required to pay the fee when you apply for the card. Please note that the fee cannot be refunded after the application has been accepted.
- Please be sure to collect your My Number Card within the post office's storage period.
- In the unlikely event that the card cannot be received within the post office storage period, the card will be returned to City Hall. To receive it, you will need to come to the main office of City Hall. The information will be stored for a certain period of time, but will be disposed of after the storage period has elapsed. Please note that a fee will be charged when obtaining a card after that.
