Birth registration

Within 14 days from the date the child was born

• Municipal office where the child was born
• Municipal office where the notifier is located

• Other witnesses

Note : As a general rule, the parents will be the report holders. If someone else is to report, please contact the family register clerk in advance.

Note : Foreign nationals may need additional documents, so please contact the family register in advance.

The main procedures associated with the birth are as follows.

• Application for Childbirth and Childcare Lump-Sum Grant
• Enrollment in National Health Insurance

• Application for child allowance
• Application for infant medical expenses subsidy system
• Sending birth notification cards

Note : Required procedures differ depending on the individual, so please contact the department in charge in advance.

Available date and time

From 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on open days Remarks: On holidays, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. and from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. increase.
Only "custody" is accepted on holiday open days and at the city hall night duty room.
Note: Sub-branch offices do not accept family register notifications.
