When you quit your employer's health insurance and join the National Health Insurance
If you are enrolled in workplace health insurance (social insurance, National Health Insurance Association, Mutual Aid Insurance, etc.) and withdraw from that insurance and do not enroll in another health insurance, you must enroll in National Health Insurance. yeah.
Please complete this procedure within 14 days after you withdraw from the workplace health insurance.
Please note that if the enrollment procedure is delayed, the insurance tax will be paid retroactively.
What you need for the procedure
(1) A document stating the date of loss of eligibility for health insurance at the workplace e.g. Certificate of loss of eligibility for social insurance
Note: You cannot apply for documents that only indicate the date of retirement (such as a separation notice).
About National Health Insurance tax
The National Health Insurance tax is levied from the month in which you acquire the National Health Insurance qualification (= the month in which you withdraw from the workplace health insurance).
Please note that you will not be charged from the month in which you completed the procedure.
When you enroll in workplace health insurance

If a member of the National Health Insurance dies, funeral expenses of 50,000 yen will be paid.
