When a person insured by National Health Insurance gives birth, the National Health Insurance tax for the period before and after childbirth will be exempted.

Please fill out the application form above and mail it to the National Health Insurance Section.
You can submit notifications from 6 months before your expected birth date. It is also possible to report after giving birth.
Note: If you submit the notification before giving birth, please enclose a copy of something that shows the expected date of birth (such as a maternal and child health handbook).

National Health Insurance tax exemption method
The amount equivalent to the month before the expected birth month (or birth month) to the month after the month after the expected birth month (or birth month) (hereinafter referred to as the "prenatal and postnatal period") will be reduced from the income-based and per capita insurance tax amounts paid in that year. Note: Income-based insurance tax and per capita insurance tax for the period before and after childbirth will be reduced from the annual amount.
Note: In the case of a single pregnancy, the amount equivalent to 4 months will be reduced from the month before the expected birth month (or month of birth), and in the case of multiple pregnancy, the amount equivalent to 6 months will be reduced from 3 months before the expected birth month (or month of birth). The amount will be reduced.
In FY2020, insurance tax will be reduced for the prenatal and postnatal period from January 2020 onwards.
