Frequently Asked Questions (Consultation)
QuestionPlease tell me about cooling-off periods.
Response
If you have entered into a contract for products or services through specific transaction methods such as door-to-door sales, telephone solicitation, multi-level marketing, or door-to-door purchasing, and wish to cancel it, there is a "Cooling-Off System" that allows you to cancel the contract without reason within a certain period.
Cooling-off must be done in writing. Fill out the necessary information on a postcard and send it to the representative of the sales company and the credit company (if you have a credit contract) via registered mail or simplified registered mail.
Additionally, please make a copy of both the front and back of the postcard and keep it as evidence along with the postal receipt.
Furthermore, even if the cooling-off period has passed (8 days including the contract date for door-to-door sales, and 20 days including the contract date for multi-level marketing), do not hesitate to consult us (there may be cases where cooling-off is not possible depending on the conditions of the above sales and transaction methods).
For more details, please contact the Consumer Affairs Center of Inagi City (Consultation dedicated phone: 042-378-3738).
The necessary information to be filled out on the back of the postcard is as follows.
