We would like to inform you about the declaration of income and deductions for the year 2024 (from January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2024).
Municipal Resident Tax and Tokyo Metropolitan Resident Tax are based on the income declared for the previous year as of January 1, 2025, at your current address.
Those who need to file a declaration should do so by March 17, 2025.
Note: If you are submitting your Income Tax return for the year 2024 to the tax office, you do not need to declare your Municipal Resident Tax and Tokyo Metropolitan Resident Tax.

Main Individuals Required to File

As of January 1, 2025, those who lived in Inagi City and meet the following criteria

  • Those who have not submitted a salary payment report from their workplace to Inagi City
  • Individuals with income who are not required to file a tax return
  • Those without income and not supported by relatives in the same household
  • Note: Those who only receive public pensions do not usually need to file a declaration, but please file if you wish to add various deductions such as social insurance premiums, dependents, and medical expenses deductions.
  • Note: Those who had no income may still be required to provide basic information for various insurance premiums (taxes) and other administrative services. If applicable, please file a declaration.

Declaration Period

From February 3, 2025 (Monday) to March 17, 2025 (Monday)
Note: Only weekday declarations will be accepted, excluding holidays.

Declaration Location

Taxation Division (Window 6), Inagi City Hall 1st Floor
Reception Hours: From 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM, and from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Note: In previous years, the venue was the lobby on the 1st floor of City Hall, but this year we will be handling it at the Taxation Division window.

Main items required for declaration

  • For those with salary income, the withholding tax statement, pay slip, and payment statement from the business for the year 2024
  • Pension recipients will receive the withholding tax statement for public pensions for the year 2024 sent by the Japan Pension Service, corporate pension fund organizations, mutual aid associations, etc.
  • For other income, documents that show the payment amount such as books and receipts
  • Those who have made payments for National Health Insurance, Late-Stage Elderly Medical Care, Long-Term Care Insurance, National Pension, etc., should keep the receipts or deduction certificates for the year 2024.
  • For those who have received payments from life insurance, earthquake insurance, etc., the deduction certificate for the year 2024
  • Those who wish to receive a Medical Expenses deduction should bring the detailed statement of Medical Expenses deductions for the year 2024 (please calculate the total amount before coming)
    Note: If you only bring receipts, you will need to prepare the detailed statement of Medical Expenses deductions before filing.
  • Those who receive disability deductions must provide proof of their disability status, such as a Physical Disability Certificate.
  • Those who receive the special spouse deduction must provide documents that show their spouse's income
  • Those who receive deductions for dividend tax amounts and capital gains from the transfer of stocks must provide documentation to prove this.

The following times and periods are expected to be crowded, so please cooperate in spreading out your declarations as much as possible.

  1. One week from the start of the declaration
  2. One week before the declaration deadline
  3. From 9 AM to 10 AM
  4. 1 PM to 2 PM
