From Mayor Inagi to the citizens (about the new coronavirus infection) April 2, 2020

Updated: April 2nd, 2020

To all citizens (April 2, 2020)

As the novel coronavirus continues to spread, we apologize for the inconvenience caused to our citizens, but in order to survive this national crisis, please be patient for a while longer until the convergence of the infectious disease is in sight. Thank you.

About patient information in the city

On April 1, the number of patients with new coronavirus infections was announced. This is announced every day by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, but from this time, the number of patients by municipality was also announced, and one patient was confirmed in Inagi City.

Until now, the Tokyo metropolitan government has not disclosed the location of residence, but as the infection spreads, this is a measure to raise awareness among Tokyo residents and ensure thorough prevention. In order to protect privacy, only the number of people in each place of residence is disclosed and the individual situation is unknown, but the public health center is investigating and taking measures to understand the source of infection, infection route, and close contacts.

Measures at Inagi City Hospital

Inagi Municipal Hospital set up an outpatient clinic for returnees and contacts from April 1, based on a request from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. This accepts referral patients (Inagi citizens) who have been instructed by the "New Corona Consultation Counter (Public Health Center)". A PCR test and a CT image diagnosis will be performed at the discretion of our doctor.

The "Returnee/Contact Outpatient Clinic" uses a negative pressure tent in the parking lot in front of the health plaza and a dedicated CT room in the health checkup center.・Complete checkups will be suspended and the health plaza will be closed.

Outbreak of new coronavirus and measures of city

The new coronavirus is a virus that causes an infectious disease that was confirmed to occur in November 2019 and was reported to the World Health Organization (WHO) on December 31, 2019. From the end of last year to 2020, an outbreak occurred in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, China, and spread throughout China and then to the rest of the world. On January 28, the first Japanese infected person was confirmed in Japan.

Inagi City convened a new coronavirus infectious disease information liaison meeting on the following day, the 29th, and decided to share information such as the onset status, post a warning at each facility, wear a mask at the counter staff, and send an email to citizens. Did. After that, based on the fact that the new coronavirus infectious disease was designated as a "designated infectious disease" based on the "Act on the Prevention of Infectious Diseases and Medical Care for Patients with Infectious Diseases", a crisis management task force was established on the 31st. As of today (April 2nd), we have held 18 meetings, and have taken measures in accordance with the information provided and requests from the government and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government.

About public facilities and events

In order to prevent the spread of infection, the city has decided to limit the use of public facilities, close them, and cancel or postpone various events at the Crisis Management Headquarters. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our users, as we have to adapt to the ever-changing situation, but we ask for your understanding and cooperation.

to prevent expansion

Although the new coronavirus can be confirmed by testing, there is currently no treatment, and symptomatic treatment is the main focus. Therefore, what we can do now is to make efforts not to receive the virus from others or to transmit it to others. In order to minimize the spread of infection in Japan and end it from convergence as soon as possible, it is important to endure for a while.

According to the situation analysis and recommendations announced on April 1 by the government's new coronavirus infectious disease control expert meeting, the infection situation in Japan is currently "overshooting like other countries (explosive increase in patients). However, cluster infections have been reported one after another, mainly in urban areas, and the number of infected people is increasing rapidly. Strengthening is an urgent issue.”

In order to prevent mass infection of the new coronavirus, please avoid 1. Closed spaces with poor ventilation, 2. Crowded places where many people gather, and 3. Places where close-range conversations and vocalizations overlap.

In addition, please continue to practice basics such as not going out unnecessarily and non-urgently, washing your hands, gargling, and wearing a mask.

Don't overreact, stay calm!

We ask all citizens to continue to prevent the spread of infection, and to act calmly so that people who truly need food and goods will not be deprived of them due to hoarding of food and goods.
