Subsidy for Hedge Creation

Eligible for Subsidy Grant

You will be eligible for the grant if you meet all of the following conditions.

1. Newly Installed Hedges in the City
   Remarks: Includes those that involve removing existing block walls and converting them into hedges.
2. The height of the hedgerow trees should generally be 80 centimeters or more.
3. The total length of the hedge is more than 3 meters
4. Facing the road, in principle, a road width of 4 meters or more must be secured.

Note 1: When installing hedges alongside net fences or similar structures, as a general rule, trees should be planted on the road side, and the height of the trees should be greater than that of the net fence or similar structures. However, when installing net fences or similar structures facing the road, they should have a structure with good visibility, and the trees planted should be taller than the net fence or similar structures at the time of planting.

Note 2: Be sure to apply before starting construction and begin work only after receiving the approval from the city. Applications made during or after construction will not be eligible. For more details, please contact the Community Development Rebirth Division.

Subsidy Amount

Installation of Hedges (New Installation)
8,000 yen per meter
Demolition (Removal) of Block Walls for the Purpose of Hedge Installation
5,000 yen per meter
Note 1: Both new installations and removals are eligible for grants up to 30 meters
Note 2: If the new installation cost is less than 8,000 yen per meter and the removal cost is less than 5,000 yen per meter, the actual cost (rounded down for amounts under 100 yen) will be the subsidy amount.

Exemption from Subsidy

1. Those conducted by the national government, local public entities, as well as public corporations and public enterprises
2. Real estate agents and development business operators conduct as a business
3. Other items deemed inappropriate by the mayor
