Subsidy for the Removal of Block Walls

As of November 16, 2018, subsidies for the removal of block walls and similar structures have become available.

Eligible for Subsidy Grant

You will be eligible for the grant if you meet all of the following conditions.

1. It is a block wall, etc., to be removed within the city
2. The height of block walls, etc. exceeds 1.2 meters
3. The total length of block walls, etc. is 3 meters or more.
4. It is a block wall, etc. facing the road and public land

Note: Be sure to apply before starting construction and begin work only after receiving the approval from the city. Applications made during or after construction will not be accepted. For more details, please contact the Community Development Rebirth Division.

Subsidy Amount

Removal of Block Walls, etc.
5,000 yen per meter
Note 1: The grant is applicable for up to 30 meters
Note 2: If the removal cost is less than 5,000 yen per meter, the actual cost (rounded down if less than 100 yen) will be the subsidy amount

Exemption from Subsidy

1. Those conducted by the national government, local public entities, as well as public corporations and public enterprises
2. Real estate agents and development business operators conduct as a business
3. Other items deemed inappropriate by the mayor
