My Town Inagi 2017 Mr. Fuuma Yamashita

Updated: May 8, 2017

Aim with Karate! national tournament trophy

Fuma Yamashita, a second-year student at Inagi Daisan Elementary School, won the 3rd Sokyokushin Kanto Karatedo Championship held in February 2017. We won this tournament last year and were able to achieve V2.

The tournament was a tournament format, with 6 one-minute matches. Mr. Yamashita felt a sense of relief after winning the first round and was convinced that he could win. During the match, I started with a downward thrust to make the opponent flinch and attack.

Mr. Yamashita entered the International Sogo Budo Ken Kido Kai on his grandmother's recommendation, and has been there for about a year and a half. Before competitions, I go to the dojo four times a week and work up a sweat doing kumite and hitting the mitts. Also, at home, I practice independently with my father and brother using a special punching bag. When I asked him if he had a lot of practice, he said, "It's fun, so I don't get tired. I can keep doing it."

His specialty is the ``lower thrust'', which worked effectively in the competition, and the ``front kick'', which is praised by his teacher for his strong legs. In addition, he is currently practicing a new technique, the Dowashi Kick, and since no one in his weight class uses it in a match, he said that he would like to learn it so that it becomes his specialty.

As for the future, he said, "I want to win and win a lot of trophies. If I can continue to win by participating in various competitions, I would like to participate in big competitions such as national competitions."

Yamashita-san, who has his next match in June, let's support him so that he can win the tournament and win the trophy, and one day he will be active in the national and world tournaments.
