"Inagi's old tales" for children
Mr. Onishi, who lives in Koyodai, has been working on picture letters as a hobby for many years.
The picture books are "Tenjin-sama and Kamigakari no Doji," which describes the origins of the founding of Anazawa Tenjin Shrine in Yanoguchi, and "Odara Mukashigatari," which describes the origins of the shrines in the Sakahama and Odara districts. The painting is also accompanied by a brush and a handwritten picture, making it a warm work.
The reason for creating the picture book was that I wanted to tell many children about the old tales related to each region of Inagi.
It was his first attempt to publish, and it took about one to two years to produce each book, and it seems that it was completed after trial and error.
The most important thing in producing this work was to meet the local people and hear their old stories. Mr. Onishi carefully researches local customs and old lifestyles, and based on the stories he hears, he imagines himself and draws it in a picture book.
When asked about the future, he said that he would like to write stories about water, such as "Daimaru Yosui" and "Kappa Legend", which are typical of Inagi. “I want to tell all the old stories of Inagi. I'm looking forward to your next work.
Note: The two picture books can be viewed at each library, and are also sold at the Inagi Sending Base Pair Terrace.
