Regarding the notation of address on resident registration

Updated: July 5, 2024

In Inagi City, addresses are written using the land number on the resident registration (resident card).

  • If the land address includes a town or village name, they will be omitted and the address will be displayed.
  • For land with a branch number, the number is written with "no" between the block number and the branch number. (Higashinaganuma ●● banchi no ●●)
  • In addition, if the land is divided into multiple lot numbers, one of the lot numbers should be objectively determined, such as the lot number of the land with the largest occupancy area or the lot number of the entrance (main entrance/exit to the residence), and used as the lot number of the address.

For specific address examples, please see "Examples of addresses on Inagi City resident registration."

Note: For rezoning areas, the lot number may not be used.
Note: As the address system is not in place, there is no need to submit a "new building notification."

How to verify your address when registering as a resident

In Inagi City, when a resident moves into the city or moves house, the location of the land on which the resident lives is confirmed using maps kept by the Citizens' Affairs Division, and the land number is confirmed before the resident registration is completed.
In addition, in cases where the land number cannot be confirmed on maps held by the Citizens' Affairs Division, such as in the case of redeveloped land or newly constructed properties, the land number will be confirmed by another division before the resident registration is carried out.
To prevent incorrect information being given, we do not answer questions about addresses over the phone.
If you would like to check in advance how your address is written on your resident registration, please come directly to the Citizens' Affairs Division of your city hall and ask.
