About the self-pay ratio of the medical care system for the elderly
Updated: November 26, 2024
From October 1, 2020, a new ``20%'' will be added to the self-pay ratio for medical expenses paid at medical institutions, etc., and there will be three categories: ``10%'', ``20%'', and ``30%''. It becomes. Judgments are made for each household based on resident taxable income and pension income during the previous year. For the determination method, please see the "Tokyo Metropolitan Medical Care Association for the Elderly" website.
In addition, in order to prevent a sudden increase in co-payments for those with a co-payment ratio of 20%, the maximum increase in co-payments for outpatient treatment will be limited to a maximum of 3,000 yen per month for three years from October 1st. Consideration measures will be taken. Any amount paid in excess of the upper limit will be paid to your pre-registered financial institution account at a later date as high-cost medical expenses. Information will be sent to those who have not yet registered.
