Out-of-pocket ratio

Updated: December 7, 2022

At the counter of a medical institution, etc., you will pay a portion of the medical expenses, etc., as your own payment. The self-pay rate will be determined on August 1st every year based on income and other factors.
Due to the revision of the law, "20%" will be newly added to the classification of the self-pay ratio from October 1, 2022. Among those whose co-payment ratio is 10%, those with income above a certain level will pay 20%.
For more information, please see the website of the Tokyo Metropolitan Association for Medical Care for the Advanced Elderly.
