QuestionI have forgotten the PIN for the Basic Resident Registration Card. What should I do?

You will need to reset your PIN. Please bring the Basic Resident Registration Card to the Citizen Affairs Division at City Hall to apply. The reset will be completed on the day of application with the identification documents listed below.

1. If you have a driver's license with an IC chip (please enter two 4-digit PIN numbers)
2. If you have a driver's license, passport, or disability certificate without an IC chip, you will need to present another form of identification, such as a Health Insurance Card.
3. If you have a resident card with a photo (you will also need to present another form of identification, such as a Health Insurance Card).

If you do not fall under the above, the reset of the PIN will not be completed on the day of the application. We will mail an inquiry form to the applicant, so please respond to it and bring the completed inquiry form when you visit the office to complete the reset.
