QuestionCan I obtain a copy of the Certificate of Residence from a city or town other than the one where I am registered?

Response

You can obtain a copy of the Certificate of Residence even from municipalities other than the one where you are registered (the family register cannot be displayed). Applications can only be made by the "applicant themselves" or by someone from the "same household as the applicant". A public identification document with a photo (such as the My Number Card, the Basic Resident Registration Card, a driver's license, or a passport) is required for the applicant. Additionally, if you present a driver's license, the name and address on the license must match the name and address on the resident registration. For more details, please refer to the page on "Wide Area Issuance of Certificate of Residence".
