Q&A summary

Contents of question Answer
[About the trees on the bank of the Misawa River]
There are trees growing on the seawalls of the Misawa River. Will it hinder the flow of rivers during heavy rains like Typhoon No. 19?
・The Misawa River is managed by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, and whenever there is an obstruction to the flow of the river, the city informs the city and asks for a response.
・In the past, when rivers were repaired nationwide, there was a time when a construction method was adopted in which three sides were covered with concrete. It can be maintained at a low cost, but the riverbed is also concrete, so no creatures can live there.
・The Misawa River has been developed with the policy of maintaining a natural environment while paying attention to the minimum level of safety. The cost is very high, but because nature is kept alive, fish swim in the river and wild birds such as kingfishers inhabit.
・The trees are managed so that they do not become too large to interfere with the flow, and the grass on the seawall is cut once a year when the winter wilts.
・If you have any concerns, please contact the city management section.
[Regarding the widening of the Tsurukawa Highway]
The Tsurukawa Highway is narrow, and there are places in the Hyakumura area where pedestrians and vehicles are not separated. How will it be improved in the future?
・In the Hyakumura area, there was once a plan for a land readjustment project implemented by the city, but due to various circumstances, the plan was scrapped.
・The Tsurukawa Kaido is a road in Tokyo, and it was planned to be carried out in this abandoned ward improvement project, but the project itself was abandoned, so it was in limbo.
・However, thanks to the efforts of the local city council and metropolitan assembly, it was included in the Tokyo Metropolitan Government's Fourth Plan. Construction will begin in this 10-year plan.
・In the future, the city will cooperate fully with the metropolitan government, including the development of the surrounding area, and we would like to proceed with the development of the side roads of the Misawa River as soon as possible.
・The problem is how to eliminate the difference in height. Local briefing sessions have been held so far, but I would like to work on it while exchanging opinions with the local people.
[Regarding the installation of traffic lights]
Please install a traffic light near the cake shop on the road from Minamiyama to Inagi Station. Cars are speeding, there is an elementary school nearby, and I'm worried that an accident will happen.
・Traffic regulations are under the jurisdiction of the police. As a city, we are making requests to the police, and we continue to make requests every year for the installation of traffic lights and pedestrian crossings, as well as requests for the installation of police boxes. If requested, the person in charge of the police will come to see the site, but the reality is that it has not been realized.
・I would like to prioritize and continue to make requests tenaciously in the future.
[About the evacuation center]

I would like to see evacuation instructions communicated in an easy-to-understand manner. Disaster prevention administrative radio communications are difficult to hear due to rain and other reasons, and elderly people and others who do not have access to the internet cannot access the city's website for information. Please let me know if there is any other way to convey information.
・As for evacuation shelters, please check the disaster prevention map and website on a regular basis to find evacuation sites near you. An updated version of the disaster prevention map will be created in booklet format during this fiscal year and distributed to all homes in the city, so please read it carefully. Please note that evacuation shelters are not allocated by district, so you can evacuate to a shelter near your home or place of work.
・Next, information from the city in the event of a disaster is distributed through multiple means. When the city calls for evacuation, please evacuate immediately.
(1) Disaster Prevention Administrative Radio: I am aware that it is difficult to hear broadcasts from inside a room, but even if I increase the number even further, the echoes will make it difficult to hear. Also, whenever the broadcast is played, we receive complaints that it is noisy. Therefore, we are supplementing this with multiple means.
(2) Disaster Prevention Administrative Radio Telephone Service = You can check the content broadcast on the Disaster Prevention Administrative Radio by calling a toll-free number. If you have difficulty hearing the broadcast, please use this service as well.
(3) Email distribution service = The content to be broadcast is sent as text via email. Please feel free to register and receive information.
(4) Emergency Area Mail: We have concluded agreements with mobile phone companies (Docomo, au, Softbank) in the event of a disaster, and are sending out e-mails all at once to people in areas within Inagi City, asking them to evacuate.
[About the iBus route]
Are there any plans to operate a new iBus route to Nanzan supermarkets in the future?
・The i-Bus is operated by a private bus company on an unprofitable route at the expense of taxpayers' money. Currently, the annual deficit of 100 million yen is covered by taxes.
・Naturally, some people who do not use the i-bus are opposed to the i-bus as a way to use tax money.
・Originally, it is desirable for private route buses to run, and i-Bus complements community roads and back roads where large buses cannot run, and from the perspective of coexistence and co-prosperity, it is necessary to separate living areas.
・Nationwide, the population is declining and aging, and the number of bus users is decreasing, and routes are being reduced or abolished one after another. 7,000 people, so I think that there will probably be a private route bus that runs in the direction of Nanzan in the future.
[About the women's restroom at City Hall]
It may overflow when flushing the toilet. It looks like they're doing construction work, but it's not fixed.

・I don't know, but I will check with the person in charge.
(result of take-out confirmation)
・One of the women's toilets on the 2nd floor of the city hall had a clogged pipe due to multiple garbage such as a key case thrown away in the toilet bowl, and water sometimes overflowed. I did the work to
・However, it is not possible to completely remove what is clogged deep in the pipes, and this countermeasure requires large-scale pipe work, so we are taking a wait-and-see approach for the time being.

[About express stops on the Keio Line]
There are three stations on the Keio Sagamihara Line in the city, but express trains do not stop at any of them. Do you have any plans to stop in the future?
・We have made a request to Keio Corporation, but it has not been realized. The answer is that the express train cannot be stopped due to the small number of passengers.
・Of the stations along the Keio Sagamihara Line where express trains stop, Nagayama Station has the lowest number of passengers, with 40,000 passengers per day. On the other hand, Inagi station has 20,000 people. Given the numbers, it will be difficult to implement.
