Tax certificate

Note 1 : The number of years that can be issued is 4 years including the current year. (Example: In the case of application on April 1, 2023, for the 4th year of Reiwa 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th.)


Note 2 : In principle, tax payment certificates for continuous inspections, which can be used for vehicle inspections of light vehicles, are no longer required from January 2023.

Main information

The amount of tax payable, the amount of tax paid, and the amount of unpaid tax (amount due and unpaid amount).
Income is not listed . (If you need a certificate stating your income, please apply for a taxation certificate or tax exemption certificate .)

Note : "Amount of tax paid" indicates the amount of tax payment confirmed at the city hall. It takes about 2 to 3 weeks (about 3 days for the tax payment certificate for continued inspection of light vehicles) after payment until the city hall can confirm the payment and issue the tax payment certificate. If you need a tax payment certificate that reflects the paid amount immediately after payment, please bring a receipt stamped with a receipt stamp from a financial institution, convenience store, etc.

Note : If the applicant is a Tokyo Partnership Pledger, it is necessary to present the Tokyo Partnership Oath System Acceptance Certificate .
Note : When a person who has the right to represent a legal entity applies for a certificate pertaining to the legal entity, the seal of the representative of the legal entity must be affixed to the application form .

Note 1 : Even if you are an agent, you do not need a power of attorney when applying for a tax payment certificate for continuous inspection of a light vehicle if the name, address and vehicle number of the taxpayer can be confirmed correctly.
Note 2 : When an employee of a corporation applies for a certificate related to the corporation, it is necessary to affix the seal of the representative of the corporation on the application form and present a document (employee ID card, etc.) that proves that the person is an employee. is.

Request by mail

If you live far away and find it difficult to come to the counter, we also accept requests by mail, so please use it.
In the case of mail request, please enclose the following documents and send them to the Collection Division. We will send you a tax payment certificate at a later date.

  • Tax payment certificate issuance application form (available at the counter. You can also download it from the link below. If you are a corporation, please affix the representative seal .)
  • Copy of identity verification documents
  • Fixed-amount postal money order certificate for commission (purchased at post office)
  • Envelope with self-addressed stamps
  • If the applicant is an agent, a power of attorney (signature and seal of the person who needs it (taxpayer) is required. There is no restriction on the format, but it can be downloaded from the link below. In the case of an application for a tax payment certificate for the continuous inspection of a light vehicle, a copy of the vehicle inspection certificate can be used instead.)
  • If the applicant is a Tokyo Partnership Pledger (resident in the city) of the same household, a copy of the Tokyo Partnership Oath System Acceptance Certificate is required.
