Be careful of refund fraud!

There have been attempts to scam people over the phone, claiming to be employees of Inagi City Hall and falsely claiming they have tax refunds.

Instruct the victim to go to the financial institution by saying things like, ``I have a tax refund.We will transfer the money to your account, so please go to your local financial institution with your cash card and mobile phone.'' After that, the criminal will have the criminal transfer the money to his or her account, saying things like, ``I'll show you how to use your mobile phone to receive your refund.''

Regarding tax refunds, City Hall will not direct citizens to financial institutions or make phone calls to teach them how to operate the machines. If you receive such a suspicious call, please hang up and contact the relevant department at city hall, the police, the tax office, or other relevant organizations.
