Mechanism and procedures for light vehicle tax classification

Updated: August 21, 2024

1 Mechanism of light vehicle tax classification

The light vehicle tax classification rate is a tax imposed on owners of light vehicles (vehicles listed in the table below, such as motorized bicycles and light four-wheeled vehicles) as of April 1 of each year.
Unlike the automobile tax type discount, the light vehicle tax type discount does not have a monthly discount system .
If you scrap or transfer your vehicle after April 2nd , you will be required to pay taxes until that year.
We will send you a ``Light Vehicle Tax Type Tax Payment Notification'' in early May, so please make the payment.
The deadline for delivery is the last day of May (in the case of a year where the deadline falls on a Saturday and Sunday, the next business day).

2 Regarding the location of registration and scrapping procedures, etc.
