Mechanism and procedures for light vehicle tax classification
Updated: August 21, 2024
1 Mechanism of Light Motor Vehicle Tax Classification
The light vehicle tax classification rate is a tax levied on owners of light vehicles (vehicles in the table below, such as motorized bicycles and light four-wheeled vehicles) as of April 1 every year.
There is no monthly installment system for the light motor vehicle tax type-based tax, unlike the automobile tax type-based tax.
If the vehicle is scrapped or transferred after April 2nd , tax will be payable until that fiscal year.
As you send "light vehicle tax classification percent tax payment notification" in the beginning of May, please pay.
The deadline for payment is the last day of May (or the next business day if the year falls on a Saturday or Sunday).
