Prevention of Child Falls from Balconies and Similar Areas (Awareness Raising)
Accidents of children falling from balconies and similar places are occurring.
Recently, there have been numerous accidents in which children have fallen from balconies and windows, resulting in fatalities, both in Tokyo and across the country.
The national government and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government are creating pamphlets and videos to raise awareness about accident prevention.
Please refer to these materials and check again to ensure that there are no chairs, shelves, or other items that children can climb on the balcony.

Child Care Support Type Joint Housing Promotion Project (Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism)
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism is implementing the "Parenting Support Type Collective Housing Promotion Project," which is a support project for initiatives that contribute to the safety and security of children in collective housing (rental housing and condominium apartments) through accident prevention and crime prevention measures, as well as initiatives that create opportunities for interaction among parents during the parenting period, fostering connections and exchanges among residents.

"Child Protection" Housing Security Promotion Project (Tokyo)
In Tokyo, to enhance the safety of residences for parenting households and to promote the creation of an environment suitable for parenting, a program is being implemented to subsidize part of the costs for renovation work aimed at improving the safety of residences for parenting households living in apartment buildings.
Safety measures for balconies and windows are also eligible for subsidies.
