Radiation and Radioactive Substances (Updated July 1, 2013)

In response to the accident at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, various measurements regarding radiation are being conducted by different agencies.
Regarding the measurement of ambient radiation levels, the national government is conducting monitoring measurements using aircraft, as well as monitoring measurements using vehicles, and the results of these measurements are being published [Please see the link below for the results measured by the national government].
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government has been measuring ambient radiation levels in Shinjuku Ward since before the disaster, and after the disaster, monitoring posts have been installed in Edogawa, Kodaira, Koto, Ota, Adachi, Hachioji, and Chofu, with measurements starting sequentially.
Additionally, the government is lending measuring equipment to municipalities, and measurements of ambient radiation levels are being conducted throughout the city in 4-kilometer by 4-kilometer blocks. In the city, measurements are being conducted at the "Inagi City Central Park Comprehensive Ground," and the results of these measurements are being published [Please see the link below for the results measured by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government].
The city is also conducting measurements using a simple radiation measurement device purchased independently, and for your reference, the measurement values are being published [Please see the link below for the results measured by the city].

Atmosphere	More than 100 measurement points were conducted in Tokyo by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government.
