Subsidy for the cost of special glasses and other expenses related to cataract surgery for the elderly

For those with senile cataracts who can recover their vision through surgery but cannot have an artificial lens inserted after the operation and require special glasses or contact lenses, we will subsidize a portion of the purchase cost for special glasses, etc.

Eligible Individuals

1. Persons aged 65 and over with an address in the city
2. Individuals whose income is below the following standard amount
   • Dependents: 0 people, Standard amount: 2,572,000 yen
   • Dependent family member 1: Standard amount 3,052,000 yen
   • Dependent relatives: 2 people, standard amount 3,432,000 yen
3. Those not receiving Public Assistance

Required Items for Application

1. Receipt from the medical institution stating the reason for not being able to insert the intraocular lens
2. Receipt for special glasses, etc.
3. Documents proving income status from the previous year

Note: Please submit your application within one year from the date of the surgery.

Subsidy Limit Amount

• Special glasses: 40,000 yen per pair
• Contact lenses: 25,000 yen per eye
